Casserole Club is a project of FutureGov Australia. Where ‘Casserole Club’, ‘Casserole’, ‘us’, ‘the project’ or ‘the club’ is referred to below, we are referring to FutureGov Australia, specifically the Casserole Club project.

Casserole Club is a free food-sharing project. We connect those who love cooking and want to meet more people in their area (Cooks), to others who would appreciate having a home-cooked meal delivered by a friendly neighbour (Diners).
The following information relates to how we will deal with privacy around your personal information.
Collecting Personal information
Personal information is information about you, from which your identity could reasonably be ascertained.
You can visit and browse the Casserole Club website without disclosing your personal information. We do not retrieve or collect personal information, except where that information is freely given by you, for example:
By registering as a Diner
By registering as a Cook
By contacting us through the Casserole Club website, in writing, in person or by phone.
Information provided in the registration process may be accessed by Council officers from the municipality in which the project is located or by officers from the organisation coordinating Casserole in your local area.
Officers who access the information on the Casserole Club website, or by any other means, will collect and handle your personal information in accordance with the privacy principles in the Information Privacy Act 2000.
Your personal information will only be used for the purposes of the Casserole Club and will not be used for any other secondary purpose without your consent.
We will take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse and loss and from unauthorised access, modification or disclosure and to destroy your personal information if it is no longer needed for the Casserole Club.
You have a right to access the personal information we hold about you. Any request should be made directly to the local program managers of Casserole Club in your area.
The terms below cover our relationship with individuals who sign up on this website - referred to below as ‘Cooks’ and ‘you’.
To take part in Casserole Club, Cooks are required to:
a) Complete and pass a Police Records Check.
b) Watch the provided food hygiene presentation or video and correctly answer all questions of a food hygiene quiz on this website.
c) Complete a personal profile on this website, and provide any further relevant information to the Casserole Club team if and when asked.
d) Agree to these terms and conditions.
At any point during a Cook’s relationship with Casserole Club, we can, at our discretion:
a) Terminate a Cook’s relationship with us, cancel all scheduled meal shares, and request that contact with all other members of the Casserole Club project (Cooks and Diners) ends immediately.
b) Ask you not to contact a specific Diner again.
c) Cancel a scheduled meal share.
d) Pass any relevant information to any law enforcement organisation with relevant jurisdiction.
Unless necessary, we may not notify the Cook of any of the undertaking of any of the above actions. Cooks must comply with any of the requests above as soon as reasonably possible.
During your time as a Casserole Club Cook, you are required to:
a) Notify us immediately if any of your contact details change.
b) Read and abide by the “Cook’s Handbook” (and any updates) which is provided by us before you cook your first Casserole Club meal.
c) Treat other members of the Casserole Club (Cooks and Diners) with respect and dignity - treat them as you would a friend.
d) Abide by all relevant legislation.
e) Notify us of any concerns you have about the wellbeing, behaviour or conduct of another Casserole Club member (Cook or Diner).
Casserole Club is not and cannot be held responsible for and is not liable for any loss, damage or harm resulting from your activity associated with, enabled by, or initiated from, through or with Casserole Club.
When registering as a Diner the following information about you will be securely stored on our website for local Cooks approved by Casserole administrators to see: name, area in which you live (although not exact address), a short description of you and the types of food you like (provided by you) and a photo (optional). All Cooks complete a Police Records Check and a food safety quiz.
We may store further information about you for our own internal records. This can include: details of your emergency contact; details of the person who referred you to Casserole Club; information about meal shares and other interactions you have taken part in via Casserole Club; dietary and health information relevant to Casserole Club; and any other information you give us in order to help us match you with a Cook and receive meals. This information cannot be seen by anyone other than the Casserole Administrators.
By participating in the Casserole Club and providing personal information to us you consent to us storing, accessing and using that information for the purposes of the Casserole Club. We confirm that we will comply with the Information Privacy Act 2000 to protect your privacy and take reasonable measures to ensure that your information is not used for any secondary purpose or provided to others without your consent.
By participating in the Casserole Club, you accept responsibility for a volunteer Cook to attend your home and for eating their food. By participating you agree to release the Casserole Club, the council or organisation coordinating Casserole in your area and its agents for any liability resulting in any loss, harm or damage due to your participation in the Casserole Club.
